A New Beginning Half Way Through...

I normally do a post here to start off the week, but somehow it's Wednesday already! Hope your week is going as well as mine is!

On Monday I shared a delicious Meatless Monday recipe for Creamy Summer Spaghetti. This is such a delicious and easy recipe, and you can use vegetables from your garden, or the little ends of veggies left in your fridge - so it is economical as well as yummy!
Tuesday is the wonderful Hearth and Soul Blog Hop for food from the hearth to feed your soul. There is still time to join in if you click here! I shared my recipe for Leek and Ham Risotto with Cherry Tomatoes with the hop this week.

Wednesday is Let's Do Brunch, the linky for your favourite breakfast, lunch and brunch recipes, and I would love it if you would join in!

Later this week on The 21st Century Housewife there will be an article about the Royal Visit to Canada, What I Wore Wednesday, the fun foodie blog hop Feed Me Tweet Me Follow Me Home Friday, the great new Weekend Roundup linky for posts you are proud of and of course, lots more great recipes and ideas!

Time to Catch Up

I can’t believe it’s been a whole week since I’ve managed to update this site! As always, the best place to find me is at the main site The 21st Century Housewife. Just to help you catch up –

I had a fantastic time at the Taste of London Restaurant Festival, and even met the wonderful Gwyneth Paltrow, who was there promoting her new book. To read more, please click here.

There has been another gathering in Ina’s Garden, and you are very welcome to share own links to posts about your experience with her Comforting and Delicious chicken recipes. I shared Ina’s Lemon Chicken breasts last week, and yesterday I also made and shared her Tequila Lime Chicken.

My Meatless Monday recipe this week is for homemade Butternut Squash Ravioli with Lemon Sage Butter. I never thought it was worth the effort to make homemade pasta. This recipe proved me wrong!

Friday at The 21st Century Housewife

Our house is a very busy place at the moment, with dust everywhere as we begin our renovations. We are having beautiful floor tiles installed in the hallway, cloakroom and dining room, and on Monday our decorator starts for about a month to wallpaper and paint before we have more tiling done in our bathrooms and finally, new carpet laid. We are also de-cluttering like crazy, something I have wanted to do for ages. It’s amazing how wonderful it feels to move things forward, and I’m seriously excited about how great it is all going to look when we are finished!

In the meantime, there’s still lots happening on The 21st Century Housewife and The 21st Century Housewife’s Kitchen.

Need a comforting and delicious dinner for tonight? Try my Pancetta and Asparagus Risotto!

There’s still time to share your favourite breakfast, lunch and brunch recipes at Let’s Do Brunch, the place for to find wonderful recipes for morning and mid-day meals.

Fancy a grown up treat? Try these amazing Grownup Brownies with rum and Cabernet Sauvignon - seriously delicious with a glass of the latter. Never had chocolate and Cab before? Trust me, this combination is the ultimate in indulgence.
Feed Me Tweet Me Follow Me Home has a new feature - this week's Star Foodie. Come visit to see this week's Star Foodie and link up your blog, a post you are proud of, or even your Twitter ID or Facebook page. Hope to 'see' you there!

I'm Back....

I’m back home from another wonderful visit to California, and it’s been all go ever since my return. We are starting a major redecoration of our house tomorrow so I’ve been liaising with our interior designer, and having lots of things delivered in preparation. I’ve got a lot of things to get ready for the arrival of the workmen, including emptying my china cabinets…which could take some time!

Meanwhile, there’s still lots going on at the main site
Hearth and Soul Hop at the 21st Century Housewife
Please share your homemade recipes with the Hearth and Soul Blog Hop, or visit for some great inspiration for food from the hearth to feed your soul.

Looking for a great breakfast, lunch or brunch recipe, or have a favourite to share? Then Let’s Do Brunch is the place for you!

Hope you are having a great week!

This Week Is Going By Way Too Fast...

I'm really enjoying our week in California's Bay Area, but I'm dreading the evening of my birthday on Sunday when my son and I have to fly back home five days ahead of my husband, who is not flying back until the next Friday night. A change in my husband's schedule and my son's and my un-changeable flights caused this rather yucky situation - which could have been so much worse as originally we were thinking of us all flying back on the day before my birthday! That would have been awful as I have never been apart from my husband on my birthday since we met twenty-two years ago! I'm very grateful we have virtually the whole day together as a family before our flight in the evening.

Let's Do Brunch, the fun linky for your favourite breakfast, lunch and brunch recipes is still open. Please come along and visit either for inspiration or to link up a favourite recipe of your own.

And today is the third meeting of our new group Ina's Garden. Come along and find out more. We'd love it if you would join us.

Looking for a quick and easy version of Spaghetti and Meatballs? Click here to try mine.

My son and I are off into San Francisco today, for some sightseeing and shopping. Yesterday we visited the Monterey Bay Aquarium. I have not done a post about it yet this time, but if you click here you can see some of the wonderful things we found there on a previous visit.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week!
